Jeanette Nevarez is an artist and photographer from El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico. She grew up in the border town and began shooting at the age of 15. Jeanette has a photography degree from Texas State University. She works full time as a freelance photographer shooting events, portraits, weddings, and commercial work. She is also a co-creator for @Kala Media, a local photo, and video production boutique. You can find her at art events, gallery openings, editing at coffee shops, eating veggie burgers and Indian food around town.

@agospelofdirt , it's the title of a chapter from Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors by Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan. I gave it my own meaning, something like organized chaos, from nothing comes something harmonious :)

How do you define community? 🌱
Site specific to your place of residence, the extension of family, friends, neighbors, peers, mentors. A community is a support system.
What keeps you making photos and taking snapshots for the gram?
I want to share my perspective; creatively it challenges and motivates me. I like to surprise myself, like "wow I can't believe I made that!"
What are you most passionate about and why?
Making something great with great people.
