Arturo is a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist from Dallas Oak Cliff. His creative journey began at the age of 13 starting out with Adobe Photoshop. Almost near a decade later, he began taking things to the next level by creating photorealistic images in 3D. When not on the computer, he also enjoys taking and editing photos on his iPhone via ArtStudio Pro app. Art works and lives near San Marcos. You could find him in Austin on his days off, searching for inspiration at museums, bookstores, or eating Indian food around town.
Hey, Art 👋🏼. What is your Instagram handle so peeps can follow you?
How long have you lived in Austin? 🗺
I have lived 45 minutes south of Austin for 11 years.
How did you first find out about IGAustinTexas?
I found out about IGAustinTexas through IGSanMarcos where I met Javier Gonzalez, the founder, at an IGSanMarcos meetup in 2015. I've participated in 4 meets during my tenure on Instagram since.
How do you define community? 🌱
Community is the gathering of principles, the sharing of empowerment, through the participation of like-minded individuals with a common goal of success from within.
What keeps you making photos and taking snapshots for the gram?
The urge to just create, and also is a personal therapeutic on the daily! Never a task.
What are you most passionate about and why?
I am most passionate about two things. Light, and my music. I feel a deep connection with my music, as it is the fuel/muse to the creativity that flows throughout my brain. If music isn't present, then I look to lighting everywhere around. I devour light for a living.
What are you up to now?
I just got done doing several projects for Brown State of Mind. I was interviewed there recently, at https://www.brownstateofmind.com/aotm/2019/1/29/artist-of-the-month-arturo-rodriguez
